WWII Veteran Gordon Whitlow joined the Merchant Marines when he was 15 years old to do his duty and serve his country. He worked in the engine room of supply ships that moved ammo and troops in the South Pacific and also the Aleutian Islands. The engine room in the South Pacific was hot and dangerous work. In 1950, Gordon joined the Air Force where he worked as a contracting officer during the Korean War.
