Perils and Pearls

Hulda Bachman-Need reads from her memoir, Perils and Pearls, and shares her memories of being imprisoned in a Japanese concentration camp during World War II.

Perils and Pearls. In 1942, Hulda Bachman-Neeb was a three year old child living in the Dutch East Indies, Indonesia, when she, her 25 year old mother and 7 month old brother were captured by the Japanese and imprisoned in a Japanese concentration camp for three and a half years. Sunday we’ll re-broadcast an earlier interview with Bachman-Neeb where she shares portions of her book Perils and Pearls. One of the golden nugget takeaways from this interview is “Count your Blessings!”
