August 1945, President Truman made the decision to drop the atomic bomb on Hiroshima and Nagasaki, Japan. This decision brought about Japan’s unconditional surrender and an end to WWII. Estimates are that Truman’s decision saved over 1,000,000 Japanese and 1,000,000 American lives. Sunday Lt. Col. Bill Rutledge (Ret. USAF) discusses the Battle Plans for the Invasion of Japan. These plans were classified for 60 years and few have ever heard about them.
