Kim Monson, Jane Perkins, and Linda Crumbaker share their story of bringing home the remains of their second cousin, World War II Navy veteran, Wilbur Francis Newton.

Bringing Wilbur Francis Newton home. Sunday my cousins Jane Perkins and Linda Crumbaker share their thoughts and experiences in planning Wilbur’s funeral services in Mound City, Missouri. Wilbur died December 7, 1941, when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. He was aboard the USS Oklahoma which sank very quickly. 429 sailors lost their lives on the Oklahoma. Recently Wilbur’s remains were identified. Bringing Wilbur home has touched countless lives.
