Babe Houser danced her way through the Marine Corps.

Babe Houser danced her way through the Marine Corps. In 1943, a young Colorado farm girl, Babe Houser decided to join the Marines because she liked their uniforms. Babe served from 1943 until 1945 as a payroll clerk for the Marine Military Police. Babe loved to jitterbug. Her record: she went to 20 dances in 21 days. Whew! Makes my feet hurt! Eventually, she married fellow Marine, Bob Houser.
